ACUPUNCTURE

There is a wide range of pelvic health conditions (including pelvic pain, menopausal symptoms and prolapse) that can be treated and helped with Acupuncture. At Emma Claire Physiotherapy Western Medical Acupuncture is used as part of an integrated approach to the management of pain and inflammation. It involves stimulating sensory nerves under the skin and in the muscles of the body. This results in the body producing natural substances such as pain relieving endorphins, melatonin and serotonin (promoting sleep and wellbeing). These chemicals assist in the body's healing processes and offer pain relief.

A course of acupuncture usually creates longer lasting pain relief than when used as a single treatment.

If you are thinking of trying acupuncture, or have a specific condition you are wondering if acupuncture can help with, contact me and we can discuss this further.

Pilates-based exercise in women’s health encourages the pelvic floor muscles to work with the deep tummy muscles to build up stability and strength of your trunk.

Clinical Matwork Pilates exercises will be incorporated into the majority of rehabilitations programmes. Whether you would like 1:1 physio led Pilates class or would like to use Pilates exercises to get to the root of pain or dysfunction Emma Claire Physiotherapy can help.
